I enjoy playing squash and badminton, but have been been out of action for almost year due to injury. That said, I have been keeping fit while injured, so I should soon be up to speed once I start.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone in or around the Theale - or nearby, say Reading or Newbury - plays squash or badminton, and if so, do you fancy a game? I was playing colleagues from work before I became injured, but they have either moved on or given up playing.

It would be great to get back into a routine of playing at least one of these sports again on a regular basis.

Please message me or post a reply if you are interested in playing or if you know of someone looking for a decent game.

The nearest badminton club I could find is Reading and Country Badminton Club, who are only interested in "attracting established quality players who have played in the top divisions of regional league". I don't meet the criteria, but I'm no novice: I first started playing both these sports over 20 years ago.

Nothing against IKEA in principle. However Is this the right size development for such a small Industrial Estate ?

Yes it will bring jobs to the area but do the local residents have to suffer any more congestion on local roads (especially if Pincents Hill 750 homes is granted on Appeal)
Perhaps the area could be reserved for some companies in smaller units that way it will still be developled provide employment and the area tidied up.

Several residents in Theale have expressed concern over traffic issues e.g
Getting out of Theale Village at High St end onto A4 can take anything up to 15mins
A4 Bath Rd M4 Junction 12
Visitors to the IKEA store parking in roads in Theale then walking the footpath over the M4 to the store
